The hunting and preying has paid off!
We're part of the Ministry for the Environment | Manatū mō te Taiao Biodiversity Credit pilot programme announced by Minister Andrew Hoggard at Fieldays® 2025.
The Kaimai Mamaku Restoration Project is partnering with Boffa Miskell Limited as a pilot project using an international biodiversity credits platform. Over the coming months, we'll validate the methodology for NZ conditions to produce science-based biodiversity certificates for investors.
Ngāti Hako, Ngāti Hangarau, Ngāti Hinerangi, Ngāti Kearoa Ngāti Tuara, Ngāi Tamawhariua, Ngāti Tumutumu, Tapuika and Waitaha have worked incredibly hard over the past three years to become high performing, investable conservation projects. Monitoring data tells the story of their positive impact on biodiversity and people, and we know the value of the ecosystem services they protect and maintain.
We are thrilled to be part of the voluntary nature credits market trial to help fast-track an effective solution for sustainably funding conservation.
